Where is your favorite place to practice yoga?

At home

What do you like the most about practicing there?

At home , I love having my yoga teacher come and teach me. I’ve been working with her for years. She knows me well and I feel comfortable trying new things and she pushes me to become stronger and more open in a healthy way. Every time we practice , my day is much better and I leave the mat feeling great.

How do you practice yoga off the mat?

Yoga isn’t just a physical practice. It’s a way of life. I try to use my yoga skills to be more patient and calm. When something challenging or stressful arises, I take a moment to breathe and gather my thoughts. I remind myself of the big pictures which helps me see the situation more clearly and rationally.

The world ends tomorrow. What would you indulge in tonight?

Dinner with my family.

What was your first experience with yoga?

My mom brought me to a yoga class.

What is your favorite food?

So many options to choose one! I happen to love macaroons and chicken.

Imagine you’re on the cover of Yoga Journal. What pose would you strike?

Handstand.

If you could practice yoga anywhere in the world, where would it be?

Bali! I’ve always wanted to go there since I was little.

What would you say to someone who is on the fence about practicing yoga?

Try it ! And then try again. There’s no down side in trying. If you never try you never know. I also would encourage someone who is on the fence to try more than one teacher and class. Each person is unique and there are many types of classes and teachers that you may connect with and enjoy. And If Yoga doesn’t speak to you and after trying you decide it’s not your thing, at least you tried!

A little background about me – I am 19 years old. I am a certified yoga teacher. I’ve been teaching for 4 years now and am still learning everyday. I love yoga and want to share it with others.
