Do you teach at a studio?
Leo gym and Aylesbury Yoga Centre
Where is your favorite place to practice yoga?
Anywhere! That’s what I love about Yoga, it can be practiced anywhere! I do love practicing outside though.
What do you like the most about practicing there?
I love feeling the Earth beneath my feet, the grass between my toes. This really helps me feel grounded and calm. I love breathing in the fresh air and feeling the breeze on my skin. It just makes me feel so alive!
How do you practice yoga off the mat?
I try and bring the 8 limbs of Yoga into my everyday life. Just a few examples; Practicing ahimsa (non – violence) not only to others but to myself. Speaking kind words, sending out kind gestures. Practicing Santosha (contentment) by practicing daily gratitude and embracing all that I have. – just a few examples.
I also work with my breath.. all the time! In so many different situations. The breath is an extremely powerful tool.
The world ends tomorrow. What would you indulge in tonight?
I don’t spend enough time with my extended family (aunts, uncles, cousins) as I should. I think if the world ended tomorrow I would have a family reunion and spend my last night with them, reminicing on old times, sharing good laughs, tears and love.
What would you say to someone who is on the fence about practicing yoga?
I’d say go for it!! What is stopping you?
Yoga is for absolutely everyone. No matter what age, gender, shape, weight.. ANYONE can practice yoga.
I often hear.. ‘I’m not flexible or strong enough’ – and that is even more reason to give it a go! With a yoga practice, over time you will develop both strength and flexibility, but the amazing thing is.. is that this won’t just be in the body, but also in the mind.
