How do you practice yoga off the mat?
My mother has recently been diagnosed with cancer. My yoga practice has helped me deal with the stress of being the primary caregiver and to better handle this roller coaster ride of ups and downs with out losing my center. Practicing staying positive and present at all times has been a saving grace for me and for my mom.
The world ends tomorrow. What would you indulge in tonight?
I’d sleep outside and star gaze with my family. We’d talk and laugh about all the fun things we’ve done and places we’ve been until the sun came up.
What was your first experience as a yoga teacher?
It was a free class to the public at the end of my 200hr YTT course. I was a nervous mess but I pulled it off!

Imagine you’re on the cover of Yoga Journal. What pose would you strike?

Stressed out people. I know yoga can help them feel better, be less stressed and therefore be better people. Better people make the world better!
My favorite quote “yoga starts at the heart, spreads through your body, then to your family and friends and then to the whole world” – Mark Whitwell

I would like to teach yoga everywhere! I love to travel, my dream is to teach workshops all over the world someday.
What has been your most embarrassing yoga moment as a teacher or practitioner?
I don’t really get embarrassed. I’ve made tons of mistakes teaching but I usually just laugh at myself, I don’t take any of it too seriously!
What would you say to someone who is on the fence about practicing yoga?
I tell everyone they should practice yoga. There is not a single person in the world that doesn’t stand to gain something from yoga. Not one.

EDM. Always. Not for my yoga classes though!
What has been the most rewarding thing about being a teaching yoga?
Leading my first 200RYT training this year and watching my students teach their first classes to the public. They all did incredible and I was so proud of them!
