Kim Mackesy is often asked what makes Iyengar yoga different. In this episode she breaks it down and gives a ton of insight into Iyengar Yoga and how alignment, sequencing, timing, props, approach to pranayama, and of course the approach to teacher training for Iyengar Yoga works.
Kim is a is a California native and Certified Iyengar Yoga Teacher at the Intermediate Junior II level. Since 1999, Kim has taught throughout San Diego, Los Angeles, San Francisco and internationally. Her teaching blends reverence and technical knowledge with joy and a dash of humor.
Kim invests substantially every year in ongoing education with her senior teachers, Gloria Goldberg, Carolyn Belko and Manouso Manos. Kim is a graduate of the 3-year, 500+ hour B.K.S. Iyengar Yoga Training Program of Southern California and is currently enrolled in the three-year Therapeutics Training Course for Certified Iyengar Yoga Teachers. She has traveled four times to the RIMYI in India to study with B.K.S. Iyengar, Geeta Iyengar and Prashant Iyengar.
